SEO – IMP factors that play a role in getting your website indexed

Changing business dynamics have made search engine optimization the need of the hour. Nobody bothers to search for results beyond page 3. Therefore, it is important that your website is optimized for readers and also for search engines. There are numerous factors that are taken into account when indexing your page. I have tried to create a list of some of the most important factors to look at when indexing your page.

1. Content: quality content can bring a paradigm shift to the indexing of your web page. Your web content should be well presented and keyword rich. Effective web content is where the writer successfully weaves in keywords to create the required impact.

2. Header/URL: The first thing the browser or engine notices is the name of your web page or the URL of your web page. With this in mind, make sure that you have included relevant keywords in the header. Readers will always click on the link they think has the most relevant content. Therefore, it is imperative that your link contains the keywords. You don’t want to make a bad first impression.

3. Keywords: Each web page is based on a theme. Keywords are pointers or indicators that your website contains relevant data. It is important to choose your keywords wisely. The definition of keywords should be broad. The wider the reach of your keywords, the better the reach of your web page. In short, the relevance of keywords is directly proportional to the traffic on your web page.

4. Update your content – Optimizing your web page alone will not help. You need to have a sustained ranking. Search engines show the most recent data on the topic; therefore, it becomes important to keep your website updated.

5. Link: It is important that your website is well linked externally. The better your site is promoted, the more valuable your site will be in the eyes of search engines. Don’t forget to link your site internally as it will only help in SEO.

6. Name your images – If you have images on your site, it helps to name them with relevant keywords or tags. This is how it appears in the results.

7. Last but not least, make sure your page loads quickly. If your page is heavy and slow to load, the chances of your page appearing in search engine results are less.

Please note that this is not the complete list of factors that are taken into account when indexing your page. This list is purely based on my research. As mentioned above, there are many other factors that are involved in SEO and the ones mentioned above are just a handful of factors among them.
