How to apply loose powder mineral cosmetics

MINERAL COSMETICS MINERAL MAKEUP USER GUIDE

Apply loose mineral foundation

Tap a small amount of powder on top and swirl the brush around (for best results we recommend using a Kabuki brush). Strike the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing up on a hard surface (eg, bathroom counter). This settles the dust on the brush head. Smooth the powder firmly onto clean, dry skin to evenly blend the pigments.

For blemishes, a separate concealer is not needed. Use a shading brush to apply small amounts to problem areas and blend well. For those with dry, flaky skin, the loose mineral foundation can be mixed with our specially formulated cream to create a cream foundation. First moisten as usual, then apply a small amount of powder to the palm of your hand. Add a drop of moisturizer. Mix the two products until a smooth and creamy consistency is achieved. Use your fingers or makeup wedge to apply.

Application of loose mineral cosmetic veils

Mineral Veil can be used alone or over Mineral Foundation. Tap a small amount of powder on top and swirl the brush around (for best results, I recommend using a Flat Top Bronzer Brush). Strike the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing up on a hard surface (eg, bathroom counter). Apply the powder with a brush and mix well.

Application of mineral makeup bronzers

Remove the seal from the screen and place the bronzing brush directly against the holes in the screen. Flip both upside down and tap the jar just a little so some of the powder gets into the bristles of the brush.

Pick up the brush and tap the bottom on a flat surface to settle the powder on the head. Smooth the bronzer onto cheeks, cheekbones, and anywhere else you want to add warm undertones. The only mistake you can make is using too much. For a darker color, apply a second coat.

Application of Mineral Cosmetics Ultra Mattes For Eyes – Recommended brushes: firm shadow brush, angled liner.

Ultra-Mattes for Eyes can be used as an eyeshadow or contour color, or as a liquid liner. To use as an eyeshadow, tilt the container at an angle and tap until some powder remains on the edge of the sieve. Gently swirl a firm shadow brush in the powder, then gently tap the handle of the brush on the side of the container, allowing excess powder to fall back into the jar. Apply shadow with short, firm strokes, then follow with a dab of a blending brush until all visible lines are smoothed. For the liquid liner, wet an angled liner brush, then dip the wet brush into the powder. Make a creamy paste on the back of your hand or on top of the bowl. The consistency should not be runny. Then draw a thin line around the lash, keeping it as close to the lash as possible. Once the liner has dried, it can be left as is or blended with the firm shadow brush for a softer effect.

Addresses

Eye Shadow ~ Use any color from our collection as an eye shadow. Simply dip an eyeshadow brush into your desired color and apply to lids. Choose a lighter color as a highlighter to apply under the eyebrow. Use a darker color in the crease as a shader.

Blush ~ Because our product is so sheer, using a blush brush will only waste your product. Instead, use a cotton ball and lightly dab the tip to your desired color. Apply along the cheekbone and blend well.

Eyeliner ~ Dip your eyeliner brush in water. Then dip the applicator in the desired color. Mix the powder and water on the back of your hand or in a separate bowl to create a creamy liquid liner. Dip the eyeliner brush into the liquid and carefully apply to the upper and lower lids, staying as close to the lashes as possible.

Lip Color ~ Dip your lip brush into your clear lip gloss/lip balm then your desired color. Apply the mixture on your lips and blend well. Add more powder to deepen the color.

Nail Polish ~ Because the pigment is dye-free, you don’t need to apply a base coat. Just use clear nail polish and dip the brush into your desired color and paint your nails. For a darker color, use more powder. You can also mix the pigments in colored nail polish to change its tint.

Body Shimmer/Highlighter ~ Use a cotton ball and pat lightly until desired color is achieved. Dust the powder on your shoulder, face, chest, etc., for a healthy glow. Certain colors can also be used as bronzers.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

If your mineral makeup foundation seems cakey, here are a few possibilities:

1. The brush! Unfortunately, the right brush is absolutely necessary when applying loose mineral foundations. The best mineral foundation brush is a Kabuki brush. Kabuki brushes have a very high density of hair: short, firm and soft. Think about how difficult it is to spread cold butter on untoasted bread with a plastic knife. This is what happens when you use the brushes (no matter how expensive and high-quality) you already have. Even similar looking bronzing brushes may not have firm or dense enough hair to get the job done. The result? Too much makeup, poorly spread, stuck in all the wrong places, it definitely looks unnatural!

2. Too much product on the brush: Mineral makeup is very concentrated. It is made up of pure pigment; the same pigments that cosmetic companies use to add color to liquid and compact foundations. Since there is little to no “filler” in this type of powder, it is imperative that you put just a little bit of the powder on your brush and use it on one cheek. Buff well in a circular motion before applying more. if you follow the basic mineral foundation instructions found on the loose mineral foundation product page, you should get the right amount on the brush: Basically, you press the head of the brush directly against the holes of the sieve, tilt the entire unit upside down, tap the jar a bit, then lift the brush off the sieve. There should be a light coating of powder on the brush head, and that amount is enough to cover at least one cheek, if not the entire face. Another layer can always be added, so start with less.

3. The wrong tone: This is especially a problem with women of color. If you have a golden undertone and the color you apply has a blue or neutral undertone, your face may look grayish or pasty. It’s not necessarily that the product is too light or has the “wrong” formula for your skin, just the wrong shade. Do not assume that mineral cosmetics do not “work” on ethnic skin. Be persistent until you find a shadow that is at least close. Mixing the loose shades of mineral foundation is as simple as shaking the bottle, and mixing one color with another can achieve the perfect shade you’re looking for!

4. Not “polishing” enough: Have you ever seen someone (usually a man!) polish a layer of wax on their car? They polish for a looong time! This creates a silky smooth look that simply applying wax would never be possible. Do the same with your mineral makeup base. Buffing with the brush actually brings out the qualities of the minerals. Use a firm touch (don’t be afraid to be firm, our brushes are very soft) and in a circular motion, blend or blend makeup around the cheeks, along the jawline, over the nose. Do this several times and you will start to see that your face glows and your skin looks perfect and completely natural.
