How do you promote your blog?

When you have a blog, simply posting content is not going to generate many visits. But you don’t need to wait for people to find you. Instead, find ways to get in front of your audience.

Write relevant content

This is probably the single most important thing you can do to make sure your audience likes your blog. You need to know your audience, know their pain points, and understand your niche very well in order to write content that is not only relevant but also interesting to them.

Create consistent content

Once you start producing content for your blog, you should get out there regularly. It may seem like a tall order, but if you really know your audience, you’ll be able to create at least one blog post per week that is of interest to them. If you can’t, you may need to reconsider your niche or hire someone to help you.

Share in social networks

When you post a new blog post, always share it immediately across all of your social media accounts. You want to be part of the proud promotion of everything you post. If you don’t share it, why should they?

Share new posts to your email list

Every time you publish a blog post, write a blurb, link to the blog post, and add it to your autoresponder if it’s evergreen or a broadcast if it’s not evergreen. This will bring your viewers back to your website and encourage them to share as well.

Add content updates to build your email list

Every blog post you publish is an opportunity to add content updates. A content update is content you link to within a blog post that offers more information. It will usually be downloadable, like a checklist or cheat sheet that requires an email address to receive.

Get involved in your niche community

Every niche has a community. You need to be involved in that community as much as possible so that people are curious about you and want to read your blog posts. Some communities allow you to share and others don’t, so follow the rules.

Sweater Your Heart Strings

If you can connect with your viewers on an emotional level, they will come back for more. Even if you’re blogging about business, you can show care, love, joy, and even sadness by connecting with your readers on a new level by being open.

Create headlines that work well

Your headlines are important. Don’t try to trick readers into clicking and then provide a post about something totally irrelevant to the title or subject line. Instead, work hard to provide a good keyword-rich headline that will make your viewers curious to click.

Add standout visuals

The appearance of a publication is also important. Add images that enhance the message and draw attention to what you are trying to explain in the post. Take some of your own photos and don’t always use stock images as they are; crop them differently, add colors and make it look interesting. Don’t forget to name the image after the subject of the publication.
