You become one of the privileged few when you stay at the Kongoni Game Valley Ranch. The elegance of the Brithgttti Ranch and its spectacular surroundings make this a very special place. The Kongoni Game Valley Ranch home sits on a hilltop overlooking Lake Naivasha and the surrounding volcano peaks. The romance of the place begins in 1901 with a French marquis who built this house in Africa for his new American girlfriend. They lived happily there until the early 1940s. They are both buried in a secluded part of the garden where the view they loved is absolutely breathtaking. The long, low stone house with its ocher tile roof sits on a wide expanse of trimmed lawns and manicured gardens. Everything feels very established and well cared for, there is an aura of quality. The house is built around a central country patio, the common lounges and dining rooms overlook the lake and open onto a spacious terrace furnished with comfortable wicker furniture and cushions. Guests are encouraged to relax in this peaceful setting and enjoy the magnificent view.

Below, shimmering beyond its acacia rim, is the lake framed by extinct volcanoes and the dizzying slopes of the Rift Valley. A primeval euphorbia forest contrasts with the manicured lawns and English-style flower beds of the garden. The meals at Kongoni are memorable; Intimate tables, garden flowers and views from the sunroom at breakfast, cozy candlelight indoors at night. The food is wonderfully you can smell the baklkig bread; the pizza arrives fresh from the oven. The emphasis is on gourmet Italian cuisine and the pasta and ice cream are homemade. Gianna jokes that the Big Five at the Kingoni Valley Ranch are Parmesan cheese, olive oil, caper risotto, and delicious pasta. Guests can take a walk along the shore or take a boat ride. You are likely to see a wide variety of birds and perhaps a gaping yawn from a hippopotamus. Kongoni has capacity for 26 people. Each room has been furnished by Gianna. The many personal touches remind you that you are in a private home. Each room has a quite charming old bathroom. Many with turn-of-the-century European accessories, including the bidet. Most rooms face the central courtyard, but some are in separate cabins or have private exterior entrances. Some have fireplaces and one even has an en-suite sauna. The Kingoni Valley Ranch has recently opened another home very close to the lake with beautiful water views. Although detached, this home is still on the ranch property and can accommodate a private party of one to seven guests in a single and a double room in a tree. It is fully serviced and you can enjoy all the activities and facilities of the ranch

House by the lake

The lake side house is a small house near the turnoff to the South Moi lake road, the grounds and gardens are not very large, but you can look out over the papyrus on the edge of the lake from the terrace. Guests sleep in a double room in the main farmhouse and in a nearby farmhouse.The rooms in the farmhouse have a bathroom with a shower. The rooms are very small and quite full of furniture. There are home keys such as books, magazines, and instant tea / coffee tray.
