Engraving is one of the most common uses for 3D printers, and it’s an area where the Atomstack X7 Pro shines. In my testing, the X7 Pro took about 10 to 20 minutes to get up and running with its simple setup. That’s a reasonable amount of time for a new user and should not be an issue for most people. If you want to speed up the process, it’s easy to install a faster 32-bit motherboard to improve performance and reduce processing times.
Atomstack air purifier also installs limit switches on the X and Y axes to prevent collisions between the laser head and your workpiece, and there’s a fixed focus piece included that lets you lower the beam before starting work. To do so, loosen the Torx handle screw and move it to a position that’s below the laser head, then tighten it back up.

For control, the X7 Pro comes with two free software options: Laser GRBL and Lightburn. Both are available for Windows, and each has a variety of customization options to suit your personal style. When it’s time to start engraving, the X7 Pro makes things easy by allowing you to save Gcode from Lightburn or quick-saving from Laser GRBL to the machine via an SD card. Then, you can tap the carve button on the touch-screen controller to start the process.
The X7 Pro can cut up to 20 mm of wood and 15 mm of acrylic, which should be plenty for most users. However, there’s no air assist built in, so you’ll have to either build your own or purchase and 3D print an optional air assist if you want to cut those thicknesses.
